    1. It's just a ornate trunk, like EHZ palm tree trunk. The trees and palm trees of the Sonic saga have a peculiar appearance :D

      You cant compare the two.
EHZ is a palm tree and its a good enough representation of whats seen in the original
This looks like a pole with leaves not a tree.
It doesn't work for this cause pine trees don't have bottoms like that and it really doesn't represent the original much its way too out there.
Your tree should represent the actual tree and the original this just looks gross

    5. Dude, guys... can't you just appreciate that the tree they made looks more detailed than the beta/alpha version?

This game is not an adaptation pixel by pixel of original, it's a true remake. There will be changes, modifications and new elements :) I hope you like the new graphics elements of levels. Soon will be shown. Regards.

    7. I think it looks good, it definitely fits better than the original. I just think it's a bit "too vibrant". Maybe needs a bit more shading?

  5. It looks nice, but different that in the original Sonic 2. If you want to remake Sonic 2's design, you hould still do some work.

  7. By all the awesome work you put into this project so far I am really impressed and can't wait to see what's coming up next.
But to be honest with the design of the tree: It's not really good in my humble opinion :( I don't have a problem with the completely new design (you guys really shouldn't just "highpoly" the old alpha stuff, that's true), but if you choose a new design for it, why making it look like a green block on a brown chunk? I understand, that there are still a lot of design restrictions in the world of Sonic, but that's not my point here. I feel that you guys should take a last look on how real pine trees look and try to adapt this a little bit more. The current design feels too blocky / boxy on the top. Try to make it going narrow to the top and broad at the bottom before the chunk begins. Even some small branches at the chunk would add some lovely detail.
I know you have a lot of work to do and that it may seem not appropriate giving you advices, but I read some other concerns about this tree design too, so I hope you will try to rethink its progress and find a solution that is more nice for the eye :)
Good luck and keep up the good work, guys! :-*

  9. Looking at the animation for the tree, I had an idea. What if the trees animated faster for a second when you ran past them? It would be a little detail, but I think it would be neat.
