Can't wait to get into it! Thanks! :D
ReplyDeleteTrojan founded on 32bit compilation. 64bit clean, please fix it.
ReplyDeleteUhh, no?
DeleteI suggest you get anti-virus software that doesn't suck or claim false positives on everything. That is, if you're being serious.
Because I assure you, from someone who downloaded this and virus checked the file myself just to combat these claims, there is no virus here.
Sadly a disappointment. The 32-bit EXE registers as a trojan on most anti-virus software (Microsoft Security Essentials is an example). Besides that, the game doesn't load beyond the title screen.
ReplyDeleteBzzt. Wrong.
DeleteNo virus here. Either you're a liar or you have some really shitty anti-virus software. Either you're making up meritless crap for your own amusement, or your getting your panties in a bunch over a false positive, and an incorrect alert.
I've played it, i've scanned the file, it works, the title screen loads and it's entirely playable. You must have a terrible computer in terrible condition.
Hey fuckhead, how about you not be a cunt? Just because the file doesn't have a virus, doesn't mean it doesn't register as a virus on peoples' antiviruses. Many antiviruses also delete files they detect as dangerous, in this case vital files for the game to run. This is not a problem with the antiviruses, this is a problem with the game, and needs to be fixed. Fuckstick.
Deleteyeah i have the same problem :/
DeleteHm... "A required .DLL file, S2HD64.dll, was not found." (Win7 x64) I love the screens you guys have posted, I'd really like to try the alpha!
ReplyDeleteAnomaly.gen!C Trojan in 32bits file.
ReplyDeleteAvoid...
Man, are you really that jealous of programmer talent that you have to make up blatantly stupid lies just to con maybe one dumb person from downloading and trying a great game by making a false virus scare claim? Grow up.
DeleteI downloaded this, and there is absolutely no Trojan here.
If you're somehow being serious than either you have a virus somewhere else, or your anti-virus software sucks so badly that it's giving you a false positive on an unknown file.
However, that wouldn't make you jealous, it would just make you rather stupid. Which isn't a very good trade-off either way.
LOVED IT ENTIRELY
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning work! I love they way you brought my childhood favorite game to life with beautiful visuals and music! You guys nailed the style perfectly and the new Sonic and Tails sprites beyond amazing! You give the original series it's well deserved justice, as well as illustrate how powerful this series is, as it was made by die hard fans! I will happily await further releases with such quality, Great Job!
ReplyDeleteHow i run in 1680*1050 in fullscren?
ReplyDeleteIt is not the full game, but was very good, much better than that Sonic 4 at SEGA.
ReplyDeleteperfect!! Congratulations guys!! *-*
ReplyDeleteanxiously awaiting the full version *-*
It's really incredible, crisp, gorgeous and awesome. Thank you a lot. Only two little findings:
ReplyDelete- is it possible to make 16:10 fullscreen aspect ratio in next release?
- All your work is about esmerald hill? Intentions of HDing all levels in near future?
Beautiful!! A work of art!! Keep the good work guys, I hope for the complete game one day.
ReplyDeleteI liked the alpha... ALOT.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I do want to see: Tail's AI.
Congratulations!!! This is a game.
ReplyDeleteThis was awesome work guys!! Absolutely stunning work and can't wait to see what else you guys have planned!
ReplyDeleteWould you please fix the dll issue? Its in the same folder, it refuses to see it. Windows 7 x64
ReplyDeleteTo all of you people in the comments claiming there's some kind of virus in this, will you please stop lying to get attention? That's extremely childish.
ReplyDeleteThis is an incredible achievement and a great remake. I've downloaded this file, and there is absolutely no virus in this whatsoever.
It's amazing the kind of meritless BS that people will stoop to, just because of their jealousy of not being able to make something this grand, themselves. Honestly, it's pathetic.
Everyone needs to try this, and they need to try it now.
P.S: I've already gone and double checked and scanned the file and my PC, for that matter. There is absolutely no virus here and I can positively confirm that.
DeleteIf these people are being serious somehow, it's because their anti-virus sucks and it's giving off a false alarm report over a file it doesn't know.
Don't make false claims if you don't know what you're talking about, people.
Actually, you're in the wrong. Most Anti-Virus software registers a false positive, with reason to do so: obfuscated code. There's DRM built into the game to protect it from hackers. The coding technique used to do this is most commonly used in viruses, so most antivirus software (including Norton, Mcaffee and MSE) register it as a positive. Stop being dicks to people for registering concern. They are right to do so... after all, why hack protect a game that was based off information gained from hacking? It doesn't make any sense.
Delete@NifhrStarX
DeleteYou're fucking stupid.
Seriously, go drink some bleach.
I LOVE YOUR JOB! Congratulation! I want the full version of Sonic 2! when the remake will release, i'll make a donation.
ReplyDeleteAs much of a douchebag NightStarX is being, he's right. The developers have recognized that there is a false positive issue occurring with many people's anti-virus software. They have provided a message to those people assuring us that it is indeed a false positive (so long as you downloaded from the official website).
ReplyDeleteThe actual message they provided is just below the download links on the page here: http://s2hd.com/
SIMPLY PERFECT! This game is one of the most incredible projects in the world! Keep it up, guys! You are wonderful. Thanks a lot for this present! Count on all Brazilian fans like me! ^^
ReplyDeleteAMAZING WORK. Really, screw bluray, this is what HD was made for.
ReplyDeleteMakes me wish there were some kind of slow motion key or something just so that I could look closely at all these beautiful animations.
"Hm... "A required .DLL file, S2HD64.dll, was not found." (Win7 x64) I love the screens you guys have posted, I'd really like to try the alpha!"
ReplyDeleteI'm having this problem also, Windows 7 64-bit. Doesn't matter if I try to play the 32-bit or 64-bit versions, neither finds its dll.
I would like to say thank you....Thank you for remember me about something important, the classics will never die, and thanks for teams and people like you guys, doing amazing things for pure pleasure and publish it free for us.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed a lot your work, I mean, I never was especting something so amazing or so perfect like this, the soundtrack is marvelous, my own special thanks for Tee, you are amazing.
And the programmers and design artists, congratulations, I never had played sonic with truly HD and with so natural moviments like I played right now.
I would like to support the team, I know that`s not very much, but I would like including share and show to the world and Brazil your great job, I would like to support paying 25 dollars in your paypal account, I don`t know if the team has something like that, but just contact me by email ok? I`ve many support from my partners and in name about all fans in Brazil, I would like to say to keeping on and give us the Full version! We are all ansious about that, and once again, Thank you for show us the new, improved and amazing game Sonic 2 HD!!
I would like to congratulate the entire team of Sonic 2 HD for the magnificent job they did.
ReplyDeleteSpeculation about the virus, I mean, really anti-virus detect a trojan in the executable of the game, but it does not really exist. I think there may be some piece of script programming misunderstood.
Believe me guys, there is no virus! Stop putting it in comments!
Furthermore, we all know that anti-virus has the annoying habit of blocking cool things and allow the real virus.
Hugs from Brazil for you!
PS: Sorry if you have something written incorrectly or if something is difficult to understand. I am Brazilian, I'm not very good in English and I'm using the Google translator (and between us, it does not translate quite right) ;D
Thanks for rebuild my childhood in HD! :D
Hi recently downloaded Sonic 2 HD but it says ''A required .DLL file, s2hd.dll, was not found.'' same error comes from 64 bit version can some one help me PS. Yes i have extracted them to same folder that game is in
ReplyDeleteI Guess Im Gonna Need to use my 64 bit PC on this, My AVG Security 2012 picked up 3 Trojans from the 32 bit file but the 64 bit file is perfect with no viruses, when you can i would suggest some kind of manifest file to stop the viruses reaching 32 bit systems
ReplyDeleteTo those who firmly believe this game has no viruses, this is the latest comment posted by "MrVestek" on the article "Guest Editorial: In Which I Rain on the Sonic 2 HD Parade" :
ReplyDeleteI have been highly anticipating this release for a long time. I played the alpha for the first time last night and really enjoyed it. Reading this article has me kinda worried though, and I was curious about the fact that it flagged something in most AV engines. I decided to probe a little deeper as I work for an AV company in my day job. I ran the program in a sandbox utility and to my surprise not only does it try to install hooks in the registry it also monitors all key strokes whilst the program is running from any window that has focus at the time. It’s not surprising then that it gets flagged as malicious in most AV engines due to this behaviour. I for one will be highly suspicious of any future release and I have already nuked this from my system. If anybody wants proof of this said proof can be provided on request.
I tried to run the game but I got a message telling me the game isn't compatible with the version of Windows I'm running. Is there anything I can do about this or am I just screwed? ha
ReplyDeleteThis Is AWESOME! I Love The Music!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting an "A required .DLL file, S2HD64.dll, was not found." error on my Win7 (x64) machine, like a few others. Has anyone been able to resolve this issue?
ReplyDeletewww.s2hd.com, is a DEAD link.
